The Benefits of Mother Circles

How many of us feel at times that we don't have the support we need for the important job of motherhood? Do you sometimes imagine how much easier motherhood would feel if you were part of a community of mothers to share the joys and challenges and had the space to be heard, acknowledged and understood?

For thousands of years women have sat together in circles. Circles are a space where you can share openly, without judgement. You can speak freely and honestly and receive deep empathy and support for the challenges and struggles we all experience in motherhood.

In circle we experience a sense of belonging and sharing from our hearts with others helps us to feel less alone. We feel a sense of community when we share, when we finally experience that all our feelings are welcome and when we can contribute to other mothers by offering them acceptance and listening.

So many of us yearn for acknowledgement - to be truly seen, heard and understood. We heal and learn by receiving compassion and acceptance and practise offering this to others. In doing so, we become more skilled at offering our children compassion and can finally start to shift our inner dialogue to be more compassionate and kind to ourselves too.

When we attend circles regularly, we experience a sense that is it safe to be authentic and vulnerable. This offers us profound healing, deep clarity and renewed capacity to be the parent we want to be.

Many of us experienced challenges and painful experiences in our childhood and younger adulthood around friendship and connection. Being in circle with other women allows us to tend to these wounded parts of ourselves and heal through the experience of acceptance, warmth and sisterhood that we have always yearned for.

If you would love to attend a circle but are experiencing financial difficulties, please get in touch to explore discounts and support.

Monthly In-Person Mother Circle in Fremantle, Western Australia

About this Mother Circle
It is a space where you are invited to turn up just as you are and share from your heart. I hold space for you to be vulnerable and share as much or as little as you are comfortable to share. Through sharing with other mothers, we feel less alone and become deeply connected to other women on the same path as us.

Each month we sit in circle together in a space where you can share openly without judgement. You can speak freely and honestly and you will receive deep empathy and support for the challenges and struggles we all experience in motherhood.

This gathering is a key part of your self care as we take time to slow down, connect, share and be heard - such a nourishing way to fill our cups. It will recharge and energise you so you can go back to your families afterwards feeling restored.

About the experience
The circle is a place to create new and meaningful friendships. It connects us with the magic of what women have known for thousands of years - that we need community and connection with a village of mothers in order to thrive in this role.

It is a place to receive celebration and acknowledgement for all the things you do every day to contribute to your familiy. It is a place to support you to learn more self compassion and for us all to embrace our imperfection. It is a place to feel inspired and empowered by the village we are all yearning for. It is a place to explore key themes in your Aware Parenting and Reparenting journey.

Whether you are mother to a baby, a toddler, a teenager or adult children, you are welcome to join this safe, supportive space, to feel included and united in this WA aware parenting community.

Aware Parenting and
Natural Learning Circle

What this Circle Offers
When we choose to support our children's learning at home, it is so important to get support on the journey. It is really hard to do something so different to what everyone else is doing. It is so hard to unpack our conditioning about what learning is. It is challenging to learn to truly trust our children's unique learning journey. It is not easy to come face to face with cultural conditioning from other people about what learning looks like and that teachers and schools are better equipped to support learning than parents. It is hard to trust ourselves when we wonder at times if academic learning at a desk is more valuable than exploring outside with friends.

We might be really clear that we want to keep our children out of the system, but still doubt if we are doing the right thing. We might worry at times that our children are "behind" because they are learning in their own time. We might see enormous benefit in learning through play but then question if play is as valuable as other forms of learning. We might find that our own school trauma is getting in the way of us trusting our children's individual learning process.

I have supported my children's learning at home throughout the "school" years and beyond and the single most important thing in that process was getting support from others on this path. It is so helpful to spend time sharing with other people who can celebrate what we were doing, our choices and the amazing opportunities our children are having exploring the world with freedom and fun. Having support means that we can really enjoy supporting our children's unique learning journey, delight in staying connected with them, trust them, trust ourselves and experience the joy of being together, watching them learn.

Monthly On-line Circle

For Aware Parenting Instructors

This online circle is for Aware Parenting Instructors to have a place to come together and receive support and guidance and connection with other instructors. It is a place to receive support on your own aware parenting journey with your children. It is a place to receive holding on your own healing journey. It is a place to receive support and guidance as you offer your powerful work into the world. It is a place to receive support and mentoring in relation to clients that you are working with that you would love some support with. It is a place to receive support with the stresses and challenges of our everyday life, offering aware parenting to our children and our clients in a world that does not understand aware parenting.

So often as instructors we are expected to have it all together, to know exactly what we are doing, to have perfect children and perfect families and to always do Aware parenting "right". Perhaps we might tell ourselves that too and judge ourselves harshly at the inevitable times of challenge in our families Perhaps we might have big feelings come up for us when we want to share this amazing work into the world and doubt ourselves, having younger parts coming up and feeling uncomfortable about how to support yourself through these feelings. Perhaps you are so excited to be an instructor and so passionate about sharing this in the world but wondering where to start. Perhaps you are needing some support with your own inner work in order to get clear about what is holding you back from sharing your unique flavour of aware parenting into the world. Perhaps you are working with clients and finding it difficult to support them with specific challenges and would love the opportunity to share that and receive support from other instructors. It is so normal in all professions to be receiving on-going support and supervision and this is also true of us as instructors too.

This circle will help build a sense of connection, support and community for us as we do this amazing and powerful work in the world. This circle will take place once a month, on the first Saturday of the month at 12pm Sydney time.

Monthly Online Circle

For People Training to be Aware Parenting Instructors

This online circle is for people who are training (or wanting to train) to become Aware Parenting Instructors to have another place to come together and receive support and guidance, mentoring and connection with other's on the instructor certification journey. This support is offered as an addition to Marion's beautiful Aware Parenting Instructor Mentoring program, for anyone wanting some extra support on the journey.

If you are really passionate about Aware Parenting and have seen the enormous benefits for your own family, and are keen to become certified so you can share this beautiful approach and help other families, this circle is a space to come together every month. I offer support, encouragement and mentoring on this journey. It is a safe space to share the joy and excitement as well as the worry and fear. It is a safe space to ask questions, to be held tenderly in the doubt and painful feelings that often show up when we are learning new things or wanting to step out into the world. It is a place to receive understanding and compassion. It is place to feel energised and inspired by others, celebrating together this new chapter in your life, held by my immense passion and dedication to Aware Parenting. With support and listening and holding, you can enjoy this process.

You can ask questions about aware parenting in your own family as well as feeling empowered as you get ready for certification. You can practice offering compassion to others and experience receiving deep compassion from me, to support you to become more fluent in the language of compassion for your future clients. It is a place where I will share my experiences of offering consultations, communities, workshops and courses. Most of all it is a place where you can show up, however you are feeling and be offered unconditional acceptance and celebration and encouragement.

This Circle takes place on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 12pm Sydney time.
