Motherhood provides so many opportunities for us to learn to trust ourselves and to trust our children. It’s not easy though. This quote always deeply resonated for me:
“Trust Children. Nothing could be more simple or more difficult. Difficult because to trust children we must first learn to trust ourselves and most of us were taught as children that we could not be trusted”. John Holt
But when we can, our children will feel that we trust them and then learn to trust themselves.
And they learn that they can trust us too and know we are on their side, we support them, we are there for them and have their backs.
Trust is even more important now my kids are older teenagers, going out to parties, having relationships and exploring the big wide world. It’s so beautiful for there to be trust between us and for them to be able to tune into their own inner guidance about what feels right for themselves and their bodies.
